BUSINESS BRIEFS

Milwaukie Park & Ride Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

U.S. Congressman Earl Blumenauer, will join Clackamas County Commission Chair Lynn Peterson, City of Milwaukie Mayor Jeremy Ferguson, TriMet General Manager Fred Hansen and Oregon Department of Transportation Region 1 Manager Jason Tell for the ribbon cutting of the new Milwaukie Park & Ride facility Tuesday, January 5, 1 p.m. Milwaukie Park & Ride 9600 SE Main (At Milport Street) Milwaukie, OR 97222.  RSVP to Gwen Snyder 503-962-2150 by December 31.

This facility was made possible by federal stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Free Rail Zone

As of January 3, 2010, Fareless Square will become a free zone for rail only. That means you can still ride MAX and Portland Streetcar for free in downtown Portland and the Lloyd District, but not buses. To help communicate this important change, we're changing the name of the zone to "Free Rail Zone."

The Free Rail Zone will have the same boundaries as Fareless Square: Most of downtown Portland (within the boundaries of the Willamette River, NW Irving Street, and I-405) and MAX stations from the Rose Quarter to the Lloyd District.

This winter, TriMet will be adding new Free Rail Zone emblems on customer information displays at rail stations within the zone boundary.

To help our Honored Citizen riders who live in downtown Portland, TriMet is offering a new downtown-only bus pass.

Wheeler was selected after a nationwide search. He was among four finalists for the position. The other finalists were from Florida, Richmond, Virginia and Seattle, Washington.

Light Rail is here. The Fuller Road Park & Ride is now open.  Now help us decide what’s next.  Come view the draft Fuller Road Station Area Draft Plan and provide your input on what the draft should include: Easier access to light rail?  Bicycle/pedestrian paths? Ambassadors' has been a great opportunity for me to get to know more deeply some of my fellow Chamber members.  I enjoy doing business with people who are active in their community and leaders which definitely fits those who serve on the Ambassadors Team.  I also enjoy serving at the different events and getting to know all those who I meet and greet whether it be Business After Hours, AM Business Connection or Business Connections Exchange.

Being active is the best way to run a business and Ambassadors has helped me build lasting, successful relationships and grow my business.  Marie Nizich- Century 21 Real Estate
