CCC Recognized for Outstanding Budget Work

Clackamas Community College is one of 20 two-year colleges nationwide to be recognized for excellence in budget preparation by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). CCC was notified late last month that the GFOA awarded CCC the “Distinguished Budget Presentation Award” for the fiscal year that began in 2008.

The GFOA established the budget presentation awards program in 1984 to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA’s recommended practices on budgeting.

The awards program requires agencies to include specific budget items in a communicative presentation. The budget is reviewed by a panel of independent evaluators to ensure adherence to standards.

“It is highly commendable that we participate and qualify for this award,” said Courtney Wilton, CCC’s vice president of College Services. “This award honors the work of our controller Chris Robuck and the entire Business Office staff.”

CCC’s budget document may be found online.  For more information, contact Janet Paulson at 503-657-6958, ext. 2307.
