What to know before you throw your hat in the ring

(or - How to stay credible and out of trouble as a

candidate!)

Many opportunities for service to community are in positions that will be elected in this next year.

The Chamber will again present a Candidate Training Workshop for anyone interested in seeking an elected position or assisting in campaigns.

More than 40% of those who attended the Chamber’s last training workshop were successful in their bid for election.

The class takes the mystery out of political campaigns, and focuses on the ABCs of campaigning. This year’s November 14 planned event will center around a theme of trust, credibility and civility. The session is a non-partisan overview of all things political and will cover such topics as filing, raising money, spending money, voter pamphlets, putting a team together and many others. Attendees will leave with a handbook on campaign topics. Speakers, panels and lots of question and answer time are being planned.

Details and costs will be available soon. Meanwhile, hold the date and make plans to attend.

If you are a candidate, plan to be one, work on a campaign, or just want to find out more about the entire process, this is the program for you!
