Kudos Corners

How members use other members’ services is very important to all, and the more ways we can let people know who used what business and their positive results, the more beneficial the Chamber is as a connector of those businesses.

Testimonials for other businesses, short notes to refer another business; all are part of what this Chamber calls “Kudos”.

Chamber CEO, Wilda Parks, said, “We know how important these referrals are, and we are going to find more and more ways to use them.” The new web site that will soon be developed is one way, she explained, with the idea of posting kudos on members business listings, or on pages on the site.

The Chamber e-newsletter is another vehicle for referrals for members and Parks invites any members to send email kudos to sandi@yourchamber.com so they can be printed in Kudos Corner in the newsletter.

Parks added that another opportunity for Kudos Corners is at relationship building events such as AM Business Connections and Business After Hours. Members will be invited to share their Kudos with those attending.

“In these economic times”, Parks said, “it becomes more valuable to shop locally, in our area, and to shop with Chamber members. More importantly, let us know who did a great job for you, who gave you great customer service, who went that extra mile for you.”

Chamber staff reminds members, that while you are thinking Chamber members first, also consider those that provide a Member$ Buy Member$ discount for additional benefit. (and, if your company isn’t currently offering a discount to other members, contact Diane at the Chamber and find out how to become part of that program).

Kudos from the Greek kydos,
(literally "that which is heard of")
 means "fame" and "renown"
resulting from an act or achievement.

Extending "kudos" to another
individual is often done as
a praising remark. It entered
English as British university
slang in the early 1800s.
