Don’t Miss these Annual Clackamas Festivals and Events

The North Clackamas area hosts many annual festivals and events that are community focused and fabulous for the family. These events are scheduled ranging from one day, weekend, to weekly. Below is a list of many of these events worth checking out:

First Friday in Milwaukie

May through October
Milwaukie’s main street businesses present the First Friday.  Art and open businesses, a treasure hunt for children, and a variety of music at various stops that will resonate with a wide variety of listeners. Many of the businesses in the downtown Milwaukie area participate and are offering specials on those Friday evenings. Bring the family and plan on great evenings in downtown Milwaukie. 4th of July Family Festival – Happy Valley, Oregon

Each 4^th of July Happy Valley holds their annual Family Festival at Happy Valley Park. Festivities run throughout the day. A parade with floats, wagons and bikes, music, games, crafts, slides and bounce houses are also featured in the park.  The much anticipated fireworks begin at dusk.

Concerts in the Valley

Summer July – August
Happy Valley hosts a range of artists Thursday Evenings in the Happy Valley Park from 6:30 – 8:30 throughout the summer. Concerts are free. Food & beverages are available to purchase. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to chill out and enjoy the tunes. Details are on the City of Happy Valley website. 

Day in Damascus

End of July each year – Day in Damascus is a community building, self-sustaining event which provides fun, affordable, kid-focused activities and creates a family-oriented, solicitation-free zone where community members can enjoy a day together.  The event benefits Damascus Centennial Park improvements and community projects.  Local businesses and organizations help the community by volunteering to co-ordinate, staff and sponsor activities and are rewarded by being positively recognized through this community-building event.

Ardenwald Park Concerts

Thursdays in August – concerts take place starting at 7:00pm at Ardenwald Park, 3667 SE Roswell Street in Milwaukie.

Pickathon Roots Music

August – Experience the annual Pickathon Indie Roots Music Festival at the amazing 80 acre festival grounds of Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley. Pickathon provides one of the best summer festival lineups. The continuous three day weekend of music is presented on 6 stages that includes workshops taught by the performing artists. The indoor Galaxy Barn stage becomes a late-night (21+) venue at 9pm until 2am.

Pendarvis Farm provides 80 acres of lush meadow and forested campgrounds with hiking, audience views of Mt. Hood, food and craft vendors, beer gardens, picking galore, beautiful site and stage design, fresh water, an array of shade and venue covering, and much more.  Kids under 12 are free when the family comes to Pickathon and will be greeted by a continuous array of planned kid activities and performances throughout the weekend.  If you are a beginning to advanced musician plan on bringing your instrument as plenty of other folks will be doing the same.

Celebration in Boring

The annual celebration in Boring takes place each September. It will be held at the Boring Middle School athletic fields. They will have 2 bands, a Classic Car Show along with business and service booths as well as market vendors.

Happy Valley’s Annual Tree Lighting Event

First weekend in December – Gather at City Hall,  16000 SE Misty Drive for horse-drawn carriage rides, Christmas carolers, cocoa and cookies – and of course, a visit with Santa!
