Advocacy & Legislation
When businesses thrive, communities prosper — and we are here to ensure your voice is heard.
Supporting Business Success in Clackamas County
At the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce, our top priority is helping businesses succeed. We work tirelessly to ensure the policies, infrastructure, and workforce in our region are designed to foster business growth, job creation, and prosperity. Through our advocacy and legislative efforts, we:
- Represent the interests of businesses at the local, county, and state levels.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to legislation, ballot measures, and regulatory proposals.
- Communicate business concerns to policymakers and the community.
- Advocate for smart investments in infrastructure, education, and public safety.
We believe that a thriving business community benefits everyone — creating stronger neighborhoods, supporting essential services, and fueling regional prosperity.

What We Do
Advocate
We speak up on behalf of our members. Our Chamber CEO and Government Affairs Committee (GAC) engage directly with elected officials and agencies to influence policies that impact businesses. From transportation funding to tax proposals, we are a trusted voice for the business community.
Educate
We keep members informed about emerging issues and legislative developments that may affect them. Through newsletters, Government Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP) Meetings, and special events, we equip our members with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.
Collaborate
We build coalitions with partner organizations, community leaders, and associations to amplify our impact. Together, we advocate for initiatives that improve our economy, workforce, and livability.
Government Affairs & Public Policy Meetings
We offer monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month, for the purpose of educating and informing businesses on key issues. These Government Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP) Meetings feature guest speakers and industry experts discussing complex community issues. Everyone is welcome to attend, but only committee members may vote on official Chamber positions. No official position will be taken until the Board of Directors votes or the issue aligns with the Chamber’s approved Legislative Priorities.

Annual Legislative Priorities
Every year, the GAPP Committee continues to develop a set of Legislative Priorities that guides our advocacy work. These priorities reflect the key issues our members care about most — from workforce housing to tax policy, and public safety to infrastructure.
See “Shaping the Future | Our Priorities”.
For more information about joining the GAPP Committee, contact the Chamber office.
Meet your Representatives!
Throughout the year, the Chamber organizes special legislative events that keep local businesses informed about what our elected officials are doing for us. These intimate events allow the general public to engage face-to-face with Congressmen, Senators, and Representatives in a setting where constructive audience Q&A is encouraged.
Event Schedule
- Before sessions: Provide input before decisions are made.
- During sessions: Receive real-time updates on key issues.
- After sessions: Review legislative outcomes and discuss future plans.
For the latest event schedule, check our Chamber Events Calendar. Note: Registration is required for all legislative events. Some events may have associated costs for meals if you choose that option.
