The Clackamas Community College (CCC) board approved Larry Cheyne as the new director of Education Partnerships. Cheyne comes to CCC from the Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development (CCWD), where he worked as an educational specialist.

As director of the Office of Education Partnerships, Cheyne will coordinate CCC’s work with high schools, charter schools, and homeschools. He will also lead work with local colleges and universities, including developing articulation agreements.

Cheyne served as principal of Linkville Academy in Klamath Falls for four years, where he managed faculty, staff, facilities and budget for the school; and also taught courses in science, horticulture, writing and speech. In addition, he coordinated the annual accreditation and facilitated contracts with local school districts and community organizations.

Cheyne worked as project coordinator at Chemeketa Community College, managing career and technical program approvals and guided their articulation with post-secondary programs at the college. He also managed the dual-credit programs, including teacher approvals.

At CCWD, Cheyne coordinated state approval for career and technical education programs and provided technical assistance for all Oregon’s 17 community colleges. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa; and a master’s degree at California University in Pennsylvania.

For more information, contact Larry Cheyne at 503-594-3220.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
