Children’s Center’s second-annual Healing Garden Gala, presented by Airstream Adventures Northwest, drew a crowd of over 200 people and raised over $200,000 for the region’s most vulnerable children.  The event took place on the evening of Thursday, September 19th, on the grounds of Children’s Center (1713 Penn Lane, Oregon City).

Guests learned about the child abuse intervention work of Children’s Center by touring the Center room-by-room. Children’s Center clinical staff members were on hand to give tours and answer questions, and displays described the prevalent issue of child abuse in Clackamas County and beyond. Those in attendance enjoyed substantial appetizers prepared and donated by Wild Currant Catering, Bistro Catering, Bugatti’s, Jefe, and Cypress.

Steve Dunn, of KATU Channel 2 News, emceed the evening’s program, which included a presentation by volunteer and community advocate Jessica Farmer. Children’s Center Executive Director Barbara Peschiera and Ted Davis of Airstream Adventures Northwest also gave remarks.

“The second-annual Healing Garden Gala gave guests an opportunity to learn about their power to protect kids in our community,” said Peschiera. “We are truly grateful for the incredible response we’ve seen when people learn about the issue of child abuse. With the support of our community, we will continue to help vulnerable children heal.”

Gold level sponsors of the event were NW Natural and Warn Employee Community Impact Project.
