Pesticide Laws & Safety in Spanish

Course covers plant protection methods for weed, insect and disease control. Instruction on laws and regulations related to safety, handling and storage of pesticides, as well as techniques for product selection, applicator safety and environmental protection. This Saturday Workshop covers hands-on practice using side-veneer grafts on several conifer species. Instruction on how to sharpen your knife, prepare rootstock and basic aftercare procedures. Three Saturday workshops (two beginning and one intermediate) provide hands-on experience for grafting fruit trees.  Co-sponsored by the Home Orchard Society. Two beginning Fruit Tree Grafting workshops are offered: from 9 to 10:20 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. The intermediate Fruit Tree Grafting workshop is from 12:45 to 2:05 p.m. Held in Clairmont, room 118. Pesticide Applicator in Spanish

This course provides a review of the safe use of pesticides: protective equipment, mixing, loading, spraying, storage, transportation and application equipment. Clackamas County Regional Skills Contest

High school students from around the county compete in subjects ranging from accounting to building construction in this daylong event that includes a career fair in the gym at Randall Hall. Day classes until 4 p.m. are canceled at the CCC Oregon City campus. For information, call 503-594-3284.

Winter Term Theater Production: ‘Requisition of Doom’

CCC’s Theatre Arts Department presents “Requisition of Doom,” written by Jennifer Haley and directed by Jim Eikrem. Shows are scheduled Feb. 27–March 9, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. in the Osterman Theatre.
