Exceed Enterprises has been selected to receive a $15,000 grant from Kaiser Permanente’s Community Benefit Program to support the addition of a job developer to their Work Futures Program that provides vocational training, skill development and job readiness for people with disabilities.

Kaiser Permanente’s Community Benefit Program is dedicated to improving the health of individuals and the communities it serves. In 2012, financial contributions to improve the health of Northwest communities totaled nearly $92 million.

With this grant support, Exceed will hire a job developer to place workers with disabilities into competitive employment in the community, as well as coordinate the training and support required to ensure the success of the individuals placed.

“The hiring of this job developer and the overall creation of this new program is a valuable tool for Exceed as we strive to improve opportunities for Oregonians with developmental disabilities who are unemployed or underemployed,” says Ken Fosheim, Exceed’s Chief Executive Officer.

Established in 1968, Exceed Enterprises is a nonprofit organization that provides vocational and personal development services for people with disabilities. Exceed’s friendly staff provide a safe and nurturing environment for more than 180 adults. For more information, please visit exceedpdx.com or call 503-652-9036.
